Encompasses more than 6,500 acres of riparian woodlands, wetlands, and grasslands, the San Joaquin River NWR played a critical role in the recovery of the Aleutian cackling geese. A number of rare animals call this refuge home, including the endangered riparian brush rabbit. Open for public recreation.
